BLR Chicago - Where It Started

I write a lot, mainly stories but I was encouraged to try blogging, like actually blogging my journey.

Here Goes Nothing..

So about 3 weeks ago, I went to the Biggest Loser Resort in Chicago. I was convinced that it was another gimmick, just another failed attempt to lose weight on my part. But after the first week, I knew it was different. I've never been too open about anything that has to do with me but like I said before, here goes nothing. I weighed in at 298 (yes I know, very alarming!), but after 3 weeks I left weighing 283. That's without starving myself, doing any type of drastic surgery, binge eating and/or anything else I've tried.

Eating right, and exercising every day ACTUALLY works, as long as you have the tools and know what you are doing. I met an incredible group of people including Patrick, Deb and Sarah who I became close with as well as many other incredible people.

As well as meeting guests, the amazing staff at the resort was the main reason for my success:
Jess: It all started here, she gave me and my mom our initial tour. Giving me my awesome nickname (Fandango), she was there for me every step of the way! Even though she wouldn't let me have cheese!
Nicco: The only boy trainer there lmao. Keeping up with Nicco was pure fun. Oh and "breaking" him was an amazing day. He got us back though, we got our asses kicked in 52 Card Pickup! I LOVE Nicco, and I'm definitely going to keep up with him no matter what.
Sue: Okay, now this woman here might be the most incredible trainer on the planet? Her idea of "fun" is different from most lol. Her energy, smile and energy (yeah I said it twice), motivated the hell out of me and I think everybody needs a daily dose of "Fun with Sue".
Jen/Emily: BLR Nutritionists, without them I don't know if I would have been comfortable enough to go home. Your diet is the biggest part of weight loss, and the fact that I understand what my body needs now is amazing.
Caryn: With a C, a fellow biggest loser resort companion who went to Malibu. Seeing her smiling in the office everyday put a smile on MY face. Oh and she keeps Jess from bouncing off the walls
Lindsay: The newest trainer at BLRC and man has she learned well. We're the same age by the way but part of me still looks up to her. She put me and Patrick through intensive tabata training (torture). I'm dead serious, I have never felt so sweaty, tired and yet proud of myself at the same time.
Andra: What!? Whether its on the beach, boxing or just doing an hourly ass kicking workout, ANDRA is where its at! Between her and Sue, I'm not sure why I'm still able to walk. I'm determined to be able to do a full burpee just for her (I do modified ones because they are awful lmao). Oh and on top of that, she brings her girls aka the BLR Cheering Squad with her. Once you see Sydney carry a 10 lbs ball up a hill without stopping, you have NO excuse (she is 7 by the way). Oh and the fact that Alex who is 10 can direct all of us in an entire workout is crazy awesome!
Alex: Last but not least is my big/little yogi, Alex. We have two, little Alex is Andra's daughter and big Alex does our yoga and wellness. This girl is amazing, the amount of positivity she has could light up anyones life. She even said she would help me throughout my journey which is more than I could ask for. Giving her a special post later

Anyway those people listed are my support team and without them guiding me down the right path I don't know where I would be. Now the real "fun" starts, trying what I've learned out at home. Mentally I almost already broke down, but I'm taking it one meal at a time. Slow and steady will eventually win this race.
